Our first post!!

The count down begins! 13 days till we wave goodbye to old blighty and look for warmers climbs in the Andes of Ecuador! For those of you who don't know why on earth anyone would want to live in South America for 6 months with its constant supply of sun at 30 degrees its beautiful Brazillian chicas (according to Robin) and of course it's alpaca's (and many other species of wildlife which are mainly listed in the worlds 60 most deadly creatures) the answer is God.

We are off on a mission trip with an organisation called Latin Link on their Stride placement. This entails working and serving alongside a local church in Santo Domingo called Asamblea de Dios Church which is run by Pastor Ednaldo. Our project is to help teach English and Sport to children in the school that the church built which has been open for only two years. There are 5 grades that attend the school in the mornings and in the afternoons there are two classes of younger children from low income families. Alongside this we will be helping out on a Compassion International project providing children with a meal and helping them with their homework which runs three times a week.

Robin has been to Ecuador before with Latin Link as part of a 'step' team. Their projects where also based in Santo Domingo which means Robin will hopefully get to go back and see how they are getting on and also get to visit his godson who was named after him 'Robinho' (i'm going to have to get used to that one)! I on the other hand have never been to Latin America before so am awaiting the next 6 months with a mixture of excitement, nervousness, fear (of snakes/ spiders/ fish that swim up your urethra and jelly fish) and of course the anticipation of adventure. Even though I joked earlier about the perks of Latin America I am somewhat of a home girl and shall be missing the beautiful valleys, countryside and coastlines of Britain. Especially our home town Salisbury with all of our family and friends in it.

We shall be using this blog to keep everyone up to date on what is going on in our lives in Ecuador and requests for prayers. I hope it shall be full of many funny tales and stories of hope.

This coming Sunday 28th August, St. Paul's Church are going to pray over us and send us out to serve abroad in the 6:30pm evening service. All our welcome to attend!

An absolutely massive thank you to everyone who has helped contribute to the £10,000 needed in order for us to go on Stride it has been amazing seeing how God has provided through our friends, families, our church and other avenues. On that note if anyone fancies helping us out on the donations front please click on this LINK which should direct you straight to the Latin Link donate page, if you then select donate to support a person or an associated project and scroll down to Robin and Emma Imeson the money would go into our little pot to help us out with the mission and towards the projects. Don't forget to gift aid it!

Finally for those of you who don't know us or  have forgotten what our faces look like here is a little pic to remind you:
 Much love to you all!
